Becca's Country Gravy

A recipe I invented today:

Country Gravy (suitable for biscuits, fried chicken, etc.):

1/4 c margarine
1/4 c flour
1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/8-1/4 tsp rubbed sage
3 c milk
coarsely-ground pepper to taste (be generous!)

Melt the margarine. Stir in the flour and seasonings. Slowly stir in the milk a little at a time (to prevent clumping). Microwave 2 minutes. Stir. Microwave 2 more minutes. Stir. Now microwave 1 minute at a time, stirring after each minute, until it's as thick as you'd like.  Add the pepper (if you haven't already), stir, and taste to adjust seasonings.

Serve with biscuits, sausage, country-fried chicken or steak, or whatever else you like white gravy on!
