I didn't have my regular chili recipe on hand (which I've been developing for a decade) and so I pulled up the inspiration for that recipe to see if it would jog my memory. I quickly realized I didn't have all the ingredients I needed, so I winged it, and happened to invent an even better, even easier chili recipe.
So...
BEST Chili Recipe Ever
(new and improved! And So so easy!)
1-1.25 lb hamburger
1 onion, diced
1 large green pepper, diced
2 cans tomato sauce (8-oz cans)
1 can tomato soup (10-oz can)
2 cans black beans, drained
2 cans pinto beans, drained
2 1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 1/2 Tbsp chili powder (2-3 is fine)
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp salt
dash garlic
Cheese and chips for serving.
Brown hamburger with onions and green peppers. Drain. Add beans and stir. Add sauces, soup, and spices. Stir and heat through.
Serve topped with grated or chunked cheese and tortilla chips.
I think this would be excellent with 4 cans of black beans (and no pinto beans) and one can of corn. I'll have to try that next time.
